Methods of Preaching the Good News​—Working Multilingual Territories

In most metropolitan areas, the publishers of each congregation should concentrate on speaking to people of their own specific language group because territory assignments in multilingual areas are made according to language. In congregations working multilingual territory, the service overseers of the congregations involved can work out a mutually acceptable system of covering the territory and directing interested ones to the appropriate congregation. This is necessary, since publishers of different-language congregations may be working the same territory during the same morning or afternoon, and we do not want to “offer any hindrance to the good news about the Christ.”​—1 Cor. 9:12.

When participating in street witnessing and informal witnessing, publishers may carry literature in various languages. However, when going from house to house, they would normally offer literature in the language of their congregation. Keep in mind that territories in these areas are prepared according to language so that publishers placing literature can also direct the interested person to the congregation meetings held in the language that he understands best or prefers. (1 Cor. 14:9) By concentrating our ministry on people who understand or prefer the language of the congregation we attend, we can help more people gain salvation.
