1 The Publications > Videos section of jw.org has a feature for children called “Become Jehovah’s Friend” that includes songs and videos. Have you used this feature in your ministry? If you are studying the Bible with a parent who has young children, why not show it to him? This may move him to explore other areas of our Web site.
2 While doing search work, one brother encountered a father who said his son was deaf. The conversation was interrupted by his wife who came to the door saying they would not be interested because they are Catholic. The brother simply mentioned that he would like to show an animated cartoon for children in sign language that teaches helpful principles for life, based on the Bible. They watched the video “Stealing Is Bad” with the four-year-old deaf boy. The mother, who was quite impressed, told the brother he was welcome to come again. Since that time, the brother has returned and had a nice discussion with the father and showed another video to him and his son.
3 While in the ministry, a sister met a mother of five children. She has two deaf daughters, ages 10 and 4. Initially, the mother was very guarded and protective of her children. The sister could see the children hiding behind the door and asked if she could show the deaf girls an animated cartoon in sign language. The mother agreed and they watched the video “Be Kind and Share.” The two girls right away came from behind the door and approached the screen, watching attentively. After watching the video, the sister chatted with the girls about what they learned. She mentioned to the mother that we have several cartoons and would be happy to come back the next week to show another one. The mother accepted. So far the sister has visited four times and each time has been able to show a different cartoon.
