Good News From God!

Witness: May I ask you a question: What do you think would identify a religion as being acceptable to God?

Non-Witness: It’s difficult to say.

Witness: Well, suppose you had a pin and as you were walking you tripped and it fell into a haystack. How could you find it again?

Non-Witness: That would be difficult. I’m not sure.

Witness: You might use a magnet. Similarly, with so many religions, it is hard to know which one is the true one. Notice what can help us identify the true religion like a magnet. It is found here at John 17:17. [Show the scripture.] According to this, the true religion should teach what?

Non-Witness: Truth from God.

Witness: And where do you think this truth is found?

Non-Witness: In the Bible?

Witness: Yes, the Bible would be like a magnet that true religion would adhere to and teach from. There are other things that can help us identify the true religion. Lesson 10 of this DVD, Good News From God!, explains more. I would like to leave it with you and perhaps I could visit again to discuss the first three points.

Good News From God!

Witness: I am curious, have you ever seen this sign before? [Sign “Kingdom.”]

Non-Witness: Hmm, actually no. I am not familiar with it.

Witness: May I show you something here on this video? [Show the title of Lesson 7 in Good News From God!] This sign occurs many times in the Bible. It is obviously very important. Notice this scripture here from the Lord’s prayer and let’s see if we can figure out what it means. [Show Matthew 6:10 found in paragraph 1, stopping after the sign “control.”] What do you think it means?

Non-Witness: I noticed the sign “control.”

Witness: Very good. This sign-language video goes on to explain what it means. Notice what it says after the scripture. [Play the paragraph after Matthew 6:10 until the sign “heaven.”] Did you notice what “Kingdom” means?

Non-Witness: Yes, it says it is a government.

Witness: Excellent! This government is very important. I would like to leave this DVD with you. Perhaps the next time I return we can discuss who the ruler is and what that government will do for people.
