Good News
Witness: I’d like to tell you about a free Bible study course. This DVD has 15 lessons that show where you can find answers to vital questions in your Bible. [He shows the front and back covers.] Have you ever tried to understand the Bible?
Non-Witness: No, not really. The Bible has always been unclear to me.
Witness: Let me show you how easy the lessons are. For example, this short portion shows what the theme of the Bible is. [He shows lesson 3, paragraph 4, then pauses video. (fg 3:4)] Let me pause it there. Based on what we just watched, what would you say the theme of the Bible is?
Non-Witness: God wants people to be happy.
Witness: Excellent, that’s right. Did you notice how the signer and the background color just changed? That shows that next a direct quote from the Bible will be signed. Watch how the Bible describes the future that God has in mind for us. [He continues playing the video on his tablet, showing Revelation 21:4, 5.] What do you think about that?
Non-Witness: That is beautiful.
Witness: If you wish, I can leave this DVD with you. I recommend that you try at least one lesson in this Bible study course. If you like it, you can continue. The next time I visit, we can consider the first lesson. Notice that it is not very long.
God’s Friend
Witness: Do you think it is possible to be a friend of God?
Non-Witness: I don’t know.
Witness: I would like to share a scripture with you that proves it is possible for a human to be God’s friend. [He shows James 2:23.] Did you notice what Abraham was called?
Non-Witness: Yes, it called him ‘God’s friend.’
Witness: This DVD [He shows a copy of You Can Be God’s Friend!] is all in sign language. It explains how you, like Abraham, can be a friend of God. This copy is for you, if you would like it. Also, the same video is available for download to your phone, tablet, or computer. Would you prefer the downloaded video or the DVD, or both?
Non-Witness: I’d like to watch the video on my phone.
Witness: Sure, the videos are available at the Web site mentioned in this tract. [He hands the non-Witness a copy of T-37sl.] The next time I visit, we could discuss what we must do to be a friend of God.
