“Dè [Jɛhova] hwòɖò kɔ̃.”—WƐ́ÐƐ́ 27:14.

ÐƐ-KƆ̃IN-GMƆÌN-GMƆÌNa

1. Ðɛ́ mɔ̀ hwòɖò-kɔ̃-dè-ɖɛ̀ ɓɛ́ Jɛhova ɖà à nyíɛ́?

JEHOVAH gave us the wonderful hope of everlasting life. Some people get the hope to live forever in heaven as spirit creatures. (1 Cor. 15:50, 53) Plenty people get the hope to live forever on earth in good health and happiness. (Rev. 21:3, 4) Whether we get the hope to live forever in heaven or on earth, our hope important to us.

2. À hwòɖò-kɔ̃-dè-ɖɛ̀ɔ̀ ɓá ɖɛ́ dyíɛ́, ké xwíníínɔ̀ nyɛ́ kɔ̃̀ jè à ɓɛ́àìn náa cɛ̃ɛ kɛ́?

2 The word “hope,” in the Bible mean, “the expectation that good things will happen.” We sure that our hope for the future will come true because that Jehovah promise it. (Rom. 15:13) We know what Jehovah na promise us, and we know that he will always keep his promise. (Num. 23:19) We convince that Jehovah get the desire and the power to do everything that he say he will do. Our hope not just imagination but it base on real proof.

3. Ðɛ́ à mu dɔ́ɔ́ kɔ̃in dèìn ɖé cɛ̃́ɛ́-ɖɛ̀ nìà kɛ múɛ́? (Wɛ́ɖɛ́ 27:14)

3 Our heavenly Father love us, and he want us to trust him. (Read Psalm 27:14.) When our hope in Jehovah strong, we will be brave to go through any trial and be happy. Let talk about how our hope can protect us. But first, let talk about how hope can be like anchor and like helmet. Then we will discuss how we can make our hope strong.

4. Xwɛ̀ hwòɖò-kɔ̃-dè-ɖɛ̀ nyu nìɛ̀ kà ɖua nìà kɛ́? (Híìbúɖúù 6:19)

4 In the letter the apostle Paul wrote to the Hebrews, he said our hope looking like anchor (heavy stick or iron). (Read Hebrews 6:19.) Paul use to travel by sea most of the time. So he knew that anchors can make ship to stay in one place. One time when Paul was on the ship, heavy breeze started blowing. He saw the sailors throwing the anchors in the water. It make the ship to stay in one place so that the breeze can’t make it to hit big-big rocks. (Acts 27:29, 39-41) Our hope looking just like anchor. It can keep us close to Jehovah, so that we can’t go the wrong way when problems that looking like heavy wind come. Our strong hope will help us not to worry too much when we going through problems because we believe that things will soon get better. Remember, Jesus tell us that we will be persecuted. (John 15:20) So, thinking good-good on the promise Jehovah gave us for the future will help us to keep serving him.

5. Xwɛ̀ hwòɖò-kɔ̃-dè-ɖɛ̀ nyu ma Jízɛ̀ gbo kpáa ɓɛ́ ɔ ké ma mɛ́-mɛ́ hwòɖò kùìn nyɛ́?

5 Let see how hope help Jesus even though he knew he was going to die painful death. On Pentecost 33 C.E., the apostle Peter quoted one prophecy from the book of Psalms that describe how Jesus was not worry and he was sure about his hope. He said: “I will reside in hope; because you will not leave me in the Grave, nor will you allow your loyal one to see corruption. . . . You will fill me with great joy in your presence.” (Acts 2:25-28; Ps. 16:8-11) Even though Jesus knew he was going to die, he was having strong hope that Jehovah will resurrect him. He also knew that he will go back to heaven and enjoy life with his Father.—Heb. 12:2, 3.

6. Ðɛ́ ɖíí-gàà ɖò cɛ̃ ma ɓá hwòɖò-kɔ̃-dè-ɖɛ̀ jè dyíɛ́?

6 Our Christian hope na help plenty of our brothers and sisters to endure. Let look at the example of one faithful brother name Leonard Chinn, who was living in England. During World War One, they put him in jail because he refuse to join the army. For two months they put him in the part of the jail where he could not contact anybody. After that, they make him to do hard work. Later on the brother said: “The thing them I pass through help me to see that we really need hope to endure. We get the example of Jesus, the apostles, the prophets and the promises in the Bible. All this one can give us real hope for the future and can help us to endure.” Hope was just like anchor for Leonard, and it can be anchor for us too.

7. Xwɛ̀ mú-dɔ̃̀-dɔ̃̀ ɓè nyu à hwòɖò-kɔ̃-dè-ɖɛ̀ɔ̀ dyi kùɛ̀ìn nyɛ́? (Wóɖómà 5:3-5; Jĩ́ìn 1:12)

7 When we endure trials and see Jehovah helping us, it can help us to know that he happy with us. It can make our hope strong. (Read Romans 5:3-5; James 1:12.) it make our hope more strong than when we started studying the Bible. Satan want our trials to overcome us, but with Jehovah help we able to bear any trial.

8. Xwɛ̀ hwòɖò-kɔ̃-dè-ɖɛ̀ nì kà dú-dèìn-ɖɛ̀ ɖò nìà kɛ́? (1 Tɛ̀sàɖónìà 5:8)

8 The Bible also compare our hope to helmet. (Read 1 Thessalonians 5:8.) Soldier man can wear helmet to protect his head from his enemies. In the spiritual war we fighting, we need to protect our mind from Satan attacks. He can tempt us with plenty different-different thing them that can make us to start thinking on wrong things. So just how helmet can protect soldier people head, that the same way our hope can protect our thinking so that we can remain faithful to Jehovah.

9. Ɔ jù ké nyɔ ɓè se hwòɖò-kɔ̃-dè-ɖɛ̀ ɖò ɓéɖéín ɖɛ́ kpá wa gbo kɛ́?

9 Our hope of everlasting life will help us to make good decisions. But our hope will get weak when we start thinking only about our own desires. We will forget our goal of everlasting life. Let see what happen to some Christians who were living in Corinth way back. They stop believing in the resurrection, one of the important promise God made. (1 Cor. 15:12) Paul said that people who not get hope for the future life can do things just to satisfy theirself now. (1 Cor. 15:32) Today, plenty people who not believe in God promises can do anything they able to do to make theirself happy. But for us we trust in the thing them God promise in the future. Our hope just like helmet that can protect our mind. It can also help us to not think only about ourselves because it will spoil our relationship with Jehovah.—1 Cor. 15:33, 34.

10. Xwɛ̀ hwòɖò-kɔ̃-dè-ɖɛ̀ ɓɛ́ìn à gbo kpáa, ɓɛ́ à ké se dyí ɓàɖàìn nyɛ́?

10 Our hope can protect us from thinking that we will never be able to please Jehovah. For example, some people can be thinking: ‘I will never be among those who will live forever. I can’t do anything good. I will never be able to do what God want me to do.’ That the same thing Job false comforter, Eliphaz, told him. He said: “What is mortal man that he should be pure?” Then he said this one about God: “Look! He has no faith in his holy ones, and even the heavens are not pure in his eyes.” (Job 15:14, 15) That so-so lie! Remember that Satan want you to think that way. He know that if you start thinking that way, you will stop believing in the thing them God promise for the future. So don’t listen to those kind na lies, but focus on Jehovah promises. Always be sure that Jehovah want you live forever and that he will help you to reach that goal.—1 Tim. 2:3, 4.

11 It not always easy to keep our hope strong. Sometimes, we can get tire waiting for God time. But because Jehovah always been living, long time to us that short time to him. (2 Pet. 3:8, 9) He will fulfill his promises in the best way, but maybe he will not do it the time we expecting him to do it. Wetin will help us to keep our hope strong while we patiently wait for God to fulfill his promises?—Jas. 5:7, 8.

12. Kà Híìbúɖúù 11:1, 6 nyuà cɛ̃ɛ kɛɛ,xwɛ̀ hwòɖò-kɔ̃-dè-ɖɛ̀ kè hwìɖìì-taɓa-taɓa nyu gbo muɛ̀n nyɛ́?

12 We will keep our hope strong if we remain close to Jehovah, because that he the one we hoping on. In fact, the Bible say for us to get hope, we must have faith that Jehovah real and that he “the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him.” (Read Hebrews 11:1, 6.) If we really believe that Jehovah real, then we will be convince that he will do all the thing them he promise. Let look at some things we can do to get strong relationship with Jehovah and keep our hope strong.

When we pray and meditate our hope will be strong (See paragraphs 13-15)b

13. Xwɛ̀ à ɓɛ́ìn Geɖepɔɔ bũ̀in xwɛ̃́ìn nyɛ́?

13 Pray to Jehovah, and read the Bible. Even though we can’t see Jehovah, we can draw close to him. We convince that when we talk to him in prayer, he will hear to us. (Jer. 29:11, 12) We can listen to God by reading the Bible and meditating on it. When we read about how Jehovah care for those who were loyal to him way back, it will make our hope to be more strong. Everything in the Bible was “written for our instruction, so that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope.”—Rom. 15:4.

14. Xwíníínɔ̀ nyɛ́ kɔ̃̀ jè à mɛ nàìn ɖɛ ɓè Jɛhova ɖà nyɔ tɔ̀ɔ̀ ɓè bìì nyuɛɛ jè hwìɖìi kɛ́?

14 Meditate on how Jehovah been keeping his promises. Let talk about what God did for Abraham and Sarah. They were too old to born. But God fulfill his promise and they born one child. (Gen. 18:10) Wetin Abraham do? The Bible say: “He had faith that he would become the father of many nations.” (Rom. 4:18) Even though to human being it was not looking possible, but Abraham was convince that Jehovah will fulfill His promise. And Jehovah not let him down. (Rom. 4:19-21) Example them like this teach us that we can always rely on Jehovah to fulfill his promises, even if it not looking possible to us.

15. Xwíníínɔ̀ nyɛ́ kɔ̃̀ jè à mɛ nàìn ɖɛ ɓè Geɖepɔɔ ɖà à bìì nyuɛɛ jè hwìɖìi kɛ́?

15 Think about what Jehovah na do for you. Think about how you yourself already na benefit from the way Jehovah fulfill his promises in the Bible. For example, Jesus promise that his Father will provide the thing them we need to live. (Matt. 6:32, 33) Jesus also promise that Jehovah will give us holy spirit when we ask for it. (Luke 11:13) Jehovah na fulfill all this promise them. Maybe, you can think about other promise them he na fulfill for you. For example, he promise to forgive you, to comfort you, and help you to get good relationship with him. (Matt. 6:14; 24:45; 2 Cor. 1:3) When you think about what God already na do for you, your hope will be more strong in the thing them he promise to do in the future.

16 Our hope to get everlasting life that precious gift from God. We really want that wonderful future to come and we sure that it will happen. Our hope looking like our own of anchor. It can help us to bear trials, go through persecution, and even face death. It also looking like our helmet that can protect our thinking so that we can stop doing the wrong things and do the right things. This hope that the Bible talk about help us to draw very close to God and it show that he really love us. We can get plenty benefit when we keep our hope strong.

17. Xwíníínɔ̀ nyɛ́ kɔ̃̀ jè à hwòɖò-kɔ̃-dè-ɖɛ̀ɔ̀ dyàà múà kɛ́?

17 In the letter to the Romans, the apostle Paul encourage them to “Rejoice in the hope,”. (Rom. 12:12) Paul could be happy because he was sure that if he remain faithful, he will get everlasting life in heaven. We too can be happy in our hope because we sure that Jehovah will fulfill his promises. The psalmist wrote: “happy is the one . . . whose hope is in Jehovah his God, . . . the One who always remains faithful.”—Ps. 146:5, 6.
