WƐ́ÐƐ́ 135 Jehovah’s Warm Appeal: “Be Wise, My Son”

WETIN WE COMING LEARN?a

1. Ðɛ́ mɔ fṹá-fũ̀à-ɖɛ̀ ɓè ɓɛ́ Jòàsí kè Dyùzíà ɔ kè Jòsádyà dyé ma dyíɛ́?

IMAGINE that you small child and they make you king for God people! How you were coming use your power? The Bible tell us about some young people who were kings for Judah. For example, Jehoash was just 7 years old, Uzziah was 16, and Josiah was 8. This assignment was really hard for them! Even though it was not easy, Jehovah and other people help them to do plenty good things.

2. Xwíníínɔ̀ nyɛ́ kɔ̃̀ jè à mɛ gmɔ̀à Jòàsí kè Dyùzíà ɔ kè Jòsádyá nyuu-ɖɛ̀ ɓèɔ̀ dyá kɛ́?

2 We not king or queen but we can learn plenty important things from the way Jehoash, Uzziah and Josiah live their lives. They made good-good decisions, but they also made some bad decisions. From their examples, we will learn why we must choose good friends, remain humble, and continue trying to get close to Jehovah.

It possible today to follow Jehoash example by listening to good friends (See paragraphs 3, 7)c

3. Xwɛ̀ Kã́á Jòàsí nyu ma ɓá Jɛ̀hódyáɖàà mɔ̀à Sáa-zà-nyɔ vɛ́nɛ́ɔ̀ kɛɛ náun-po-wùɖùɔ̀ jè dyíɛ́?

3 Follow Jehoash example by making good decisions. When King Jehoash was young, he made one wise decision. Even though his pa die, he use to follow the direction from the faithful High Priest, Jehoiada. Jehoiada use to teach Jehoash just like his own son. Because of Jehoiada good example, Jehoash decided to serve Jehovah and to help the people serve Jehovah too. Jehoash also made sure to fix Jehovah temple.—2 Chron. 24:1, 2, 4, 13, 14.

4. Xwɛ̀ Jɛhova gma ɓèɔ̀ dyi kpɔ̃-kpɔ̃ nyu à kpáná dyí nyuɛ kɛ́? (Nɔ́ɔ́ 2:1, 10-12)

4 If your parents or somebody else teaching you to love and obey Jehovah, then they giving you one very special gift. (Read Proverbs 2:1, 10-12.) Parents can train their children in plenty different-different ways. Let see how one sister name Katya got help from her pa to make good decision. Every day when her pa carrying her to school, they will talk about the daily text. She say, “What we use to talk about help me to do the right thing when I face problems in the day.” What if your parents use the Bible to make rules, but you feel that it not making you to do the thing them you want do? Wetin will help you to obey them? One sister name Anastasia say she remember how her parents use to take their time to explain to her why they made certain rules. She also say, “It help me to understand that they were not trying to control me but they were trying to protect me. And that because they love me.”

5. Ðɛ́ nì nyuu-ɖɛ̀ ɓèɔ̀ mu Jɛhova kè wóɖóìn-nyɔ ɓèɔ̀ bũ̀ nyuùn wɛ̃́? (Nɔ́ɔ́ 22:6; 23:15, 24, 25)

5 Your parents will be happy when you listen to the advice they give you from the Bible. More important, God will be happy with you and your friendship with him will be more strong. (Read Proverbs 22:6; 23:15, 24, 25.) That good reason them here for you to follow Jehoash example when he was young.

6. Nyɛ́ kɔ̃̀ náun-po-wùɖù Jòàsí ɖú ma ɖùù gbo tòɛ̀ dyíɛ́, kè ɖɛ́ kpá ma kɛ́? (2 Kánáníkɔ̀ 24:17, 18)

6 Learn from the bad decisions Jehoash made. After Jehoiada die, Jehoash friend them made him to do bad things. (Read 2 Chronicles 24:17,18.) He choose to listen to the prince them from Judah who not use to like Jehovah business. Maybe you will agree that Jehoash suppose to stay away from them because they use to do bad things. (Prov. 1:10) But he listen to their bad advice. Even when his cousin Zechariah try to correct him, Jehoash say the people must kill him and the people do it. (2 Chron. 24:20, 21; Matt. 23:35) Jehoash really acted bad and foolish! From the beginning Jehoash was doing well, but it too sad that he turn to killer and apostate. In the end, his own servant them kill him. (2 Chron. 24:22-25) His life was coming to be really different if he was coming to continue listening to Jehovah and the people them that love Him! What lesson you learn from this example?

7. Nyɛ́ m̀ mɛ kpɔ̃ ɓáto mú kɛ́? (Dyé fótòɔ̀ ɖekè.)

7 One lesson we can learn from Jehoash bad decision that to choose friend them who will make us to do good things. And this friend them must love Jehovah and try to make Him happy. We can make friends with people who older than us or who we older than. Remember that Jehoash friend Jehoiada was older than him. So if you want be friendly with somebody, ask yourself this question them: ‘They will help me to get strong faith in Jehovah? They can encourage me to live by God laws? They can talk about Jehovah and the good-good thing them he put in the Bible? They can show respect for God laws? They can just tell me what I want hear, or they can counsel me when I make mistake?’ (Prov. 27:5, 6, 17) To talk the truth, if your friend them not love Jehovah, no need to be friendly with them. But if you get friends that love Jehovah, stick to them because they will always help you!—Prov. 13:20.

8. Ɔ jù ké à dyí nɛ̃ɛ kɔ̃ múɛ níìn, ɖɛ́ mɛ nì à hwìɖìi kɛ́?

8 Today, the internet that good way to talk with our family and friend them. But plenty people can use the internet to post photos and videos about the thing them they na buy or do, so that people can feel that they too important. If you can use the internet to post pictures and videos, then ask yourself: ‘My reason for doing it that to make people feel that I too important? My goal that to encourage other people or I want them to praise me? I allowing the way other people can use the internet to make me think, talk or do things that not correct?’ Brother Nathan Knorr, who was on the Governing Body, gave this advice: “Don’t focus on pleasing people. If you do it, you will not please anybody. Please Jehovah, and you will please everybody who love Jehovah.”

9 Follow Uzziah example by making good decisions. When King Uzziah was young he was humble. He learn “to fear the true God.” And Jehovah bless him for most of the 68 years he live for. (Read 2 Chronicles 26:1-5.) Uzziah destroy plenty country them that were against Jehovah people and made sure to protect Jerusalem good-good. (2 Chron. 26:6-15) We sure Uzziah was happy with all the help that God gave him.—Eccl. 3:12, 13.

10. Ðɛ́ kpa ma Dyùzíà fɛ̀ɛ̀ mú ɖèɛ́?

10 Learn from the bad decisions Uzziah made. King Uzziah was use to telling other people what to do. You think this one made him feel that he can do anything he want do? Well, one day Uzziah enter Jehovah temple and try to burn incense on the altar and he knew that the king them not suppose to do it. (2 Chron. 26:16-18) The High Priest Azariah try to correct him, but Uzziah got vex bad way. Sad to say, Uzziah not remain faithful and Jehovah punish him by putting leprosy on him. (2 Chron. 26:19-21) His life was going to be alright if he was coming to stay humble!

11. Ðɛ́ ɓè ɓɛ́ìn tɛ̀mɛ̀ìn kà ɓɛ́ à dyàa à mìɔ̀un ɓíɖiɛ́? (Dyé fótò ɓèɔ̀ ɖekè.)

11 As soon Uzziah got plenty power, he forget about all the good-good things that Jehovah do for him. What this one teach us? We must remember that all the blessings and privilege them we get coming from Jehovah. Instead of boasting about all the thing them we na do, we must give the praise to Jehovah for what we able to do.b (1 Cor. 4:7) We must be humble and know that we not perfect and we need discipline. One brother who around 60-year-old say: “I na learn to not get vex or feel bad when other people tell me about my mistake. When I receive discipline for the foolish mistakes I can make sometime, I can try to improve and continue giving Jehovah my best.” When we obey Jehovah and remain humble, our life will really be happy.—Prov. 22:4.

12. Ti Jòsádyá mɔ̀ ma nyɔ gmɔ̀ kɛɛ, xwɛ̀ ɔ nyu ma Jɛhova dyi mɔ́ɔ̀ kɛ́? (2 Kánáníkɔ̀ 34:1-3)

12 Follow Josiah example by making good decisions. Josiah was 16 years old when he started getting close to Jehovah. He wanted to learn about Jehovah and do His will. But things was not easy for this young king. During that time, plenty people were worshipping false god so Josiah needed to be brave to stop them. And yes, he was brave! Before Josiah was 20 years old, he already started moving false worship from the nation.—Read 2 Chronicles 34:1-3.

13. Ðé m̀ gboɛɛ, ɖɛ́ mɔ̀ nyɔ mìɔùn Jɛhova xwáɖáùn-zàìn-zàìn xwíníín nyɛ́?

13 Even if you very young, you can decide to follow Josiah example by learning more about Jehovah and His wonderful quality them. When you do this one, it will make you to want give your life to Jehovah. Wetin you suppose to do when you give your life to Jehovah? Luke, who got baptize when he was 14 years old, say, “From now on, I will put serving Jehovah first in my life and I will try my best to make him happy.” (Mark 12:30) You will really be bless if you try to do the same thing!

Rachel, who got baptize when she was 14 years old, talk about what help her to bear the problem them she can face in school. She say: “I can try to look for things that can help me to think about the Bible and Jehovah. For example, my history note can make me think about Bible story or prophecy. Or sometime when I talking with somebody in school, I can think about one scripture that I can share with them.” Maybe the problem them you facing different from the one them that King Josiah face. But you can make good decision and remain loyal to Jehovah like him. When you go through problems when you young, it will prepare you to face other problem them in the future.

15 When King Josiah was 26 years old, he started fixing the temple. When the work was going on, the priest found “the book of Jehovah’s Law given through Moses”. When the king hear what it say, he take action right away by obeying the thing them in the book. (Read 2 Chronicles 34:14, 18-21.) You want read the Bible every day? If you already trying to do it, you enjoying it? You think you can mark some Bible verse them down that will help you? When Luke who we talk about before find interesting points, he can write it down in his notebook. 16 Learn from the bad decision Josiah made. When Josiah was about 39 years old, he made one mistake that made him to die. He trust himself instead of asking Jehovah to direct him. (2 Chron. 35:20-25) We can learn lesson from this one. No matter how we old or how long we been studying the Bible, we must continue to get close to Jehovah. This one mean we must always pray to Jehovah for direction, study the Bible, and listen to the advice from mature Christians. Then it will be hard for us to make any serious mistake and we will be happy.—Jas. 1:25.
