35 “‘“I Jehovah have spoken if this is not what I shall do to all this evil assembly,+ those who have gathered together against me: In this wilderness they will come to their end, and there they will die.+

19 Then Joshua said to the people: “YOU are not able to serve Jehovah, for he is a holy God;*+ he is a God* exacting exclusive devotion.+ He will not pardon YOUR revolting and YOUR sins.+

25 See that YOU do not beg off from him who is speaking.+ For if they did not escape who begged off from him who was giving divine warning upon earth,+ much more shall we not if we turn away from him who speaks from the heavens.+
