8 Later he moved from there to the mountainous region to the east of Bethʹel+ and pitched his tent with Bethʹel on the west and Aʹi+ on the east. Then he built an altar there to Jehovah+ and began to call on the name* of Jehovah.+

27 So he came near and kissed him, and he could smell the scent of his garments.+ And he proceeded to bless him and to say:

“See, the scent of my son is like the scent of the field which Jehovah has blessed.

16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said: “Truly Jehovah is in this place and I myself did not know it.”

23 And what one* nation in the earth is like your people Israel,+ whom God went to redeem to himself as a people+ and to assign himself a name+ and to do for them* great and fear-inspiring things+—to drive out* because of your people, whom you have redeemed+ to yourself from Egypt, the nations and their gods?

6 For that reason my people will know my name,+ even for that reason in that day, because I am the One that is speaking.+ Look! It is I.”

21 “Therefore here I am causing them to know; at this one time I shall cause them to know my hand and my mightiness,+ and they will have to know that my name is Jehovah.”+

20 you who set signs and miracles in the land of Egypt down to this day and in Israel and among men,*+ that you might make a name for your own self, just as at this day.+
