4 Only flesh with its soul*+—its blood+—YOU must not eat.+

14 For the soul of every sort of flesh* is its blood by the soul in it.* Consequently I said to the sons of Israel: “YOU must not eat the blood of any sort of flesh, because the soul of every sort of flesh is its blood.+ Anyone eating it will be cut off.”+

23 Simply be firmly resolved not to eat the blood,+ because the blood is the soul+ and you must not eat the soul with the flesh.*

19 And he went on to say: “It is unthinkable on my part, as regards my God, to do this! Is it the blood+ of these men that I should drink at the risk of their souls?* For it was at the risk of their souls that they brought it.” And he did not consent to drink it.+ These are the things that the three mighty men did.
