20 “One who sacrifices to any gods but Jehovah alone is to be devoted to destruction.*+

27 He now said to them: “This is what Jehovah the God of Israel has said, ‘Put each one of YOU his sword on his side. Pass through and return from gate to gate in the camp and kill each one his brother and each one his fellow and each one his intimate acquaintance.’”+

8 you must not accede to his wish or listen to him,+ nor should your eye feel sorry for him, nor must you feel compassion,+ nor cover him [protectively];

9 but you should kill him without fail.+ Your hand first of all should come upon him to put him to death, and the hand of all the people afterward.+

40 Then E·liʹjah said to them: “Seize the prophets of Baʹal! Do not let a single one of them escape!” At once they seized them, and E·liʹjah then brought them down to the torrent valley of Kiʹshon+ and slaughtered them there.+
