9 When they went up to the torrent valley of Eshʹcol+ and saw the land, then they disheartened the sons of Israel, so as not to go into the land that Jehovah was certain to give them.+
8 And the officers must speak further to the people and say, ‘Who is the man that is fearful and fainthearted?+ Let him go and return to his house, that he may not cause the hearts of his brothers to melt as his own heart.’+
