3 Then Sarʹai, Aʹbram’s wife, took Haʹgar, her Egyptian maidservant, at the end of ten years of Aʹbram’s dwelling in the land of Caʹnaan, and gave her to Aʹbram her husband as his wife.+
8 If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master so that he does not designate her as a concubine+ but causes her to be redeemed, he will not be entitled to sell her to a foreign people in his treacherously dealing with her.
13 Meantime, David went on taking more concubines+ and wives+ out of Jerusalem after he came from Heʹbron; and more sons and daughters continued to be born to David.
21 And Re·ho·boʹam was more in love with Maʹa·cah the granddaughter of Abʹsa·lom than all his other wives+ and his concubines; for there were eighteen wives that he had taken, also sixty concubines, so that he became father to twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.
