6 And Aʹbram went on through the land as far as the site of Sheʹchem,*+ near the big trees of Moʹreh;+ and at that time the Caʹnaan·ite was in the land.

18 In time Jacob came safe and sound to the city of Sheʹchem,+ which is in the land of Caʹnaan,+ while he was coming from Padʹdan-aʹram;+ and he pitched camp in front of the city.

27 The other sons of Jacob attacked* the fatally wounded men and went plundering the city, because they had defiled their sister.+

12 And Re·ho·boʹam+ proceeded to go to Sheʹchem, for it was to Sheʹchem+ that all Israel came to make him king.
