2 As for Saul and the men of Israel, they collected themselves together and took up camping in the low plain of Eʹlah,+ and they went drawing up in battle formation to meet the Phi·lisʹtines.

50 So David, with a sling and a stone, proved stronger than the Phi·lisʹtine and struck the Phi·lisʹtine down and put him to death; and there was no sword in David’s hand.+
