54 After that Jacob sacrificed a sacrifice in the mountain and invited his brothers to eat bread.+ Accordingly they ate bread and passed the night in the mountain.*

9 Then Samuel took a sucking lamb and offered it up as a burnt offering, a whole offering,+ to Jehovah; and Samuel began calling to Jehovah for aid in behalf of Israel,+ and Jehovah proceeded to answer him.+

5 To this he said: “It means peace. To sacrifice to Jehovah is why I have come. Sanctify+ yourselves, and YOU must come with me to the sacrifice.” Then he sanctified Jesʹse and his sons, after which he called them to the sacrifice.
