13 Accordingly Samuel took the horn of oil+ and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the spirit of Jehovah began to be operative upon David from that day forward.+ Later Samuel rose and went his way to Raʹmah.+

3 And you must take the flask of oil and pour it out upon his head+ and say, ‘This is what Jehovah has said: “I do anoint+ you as king+ over Israel.”’ And you must open the door and flee and not wait.”
