6 And it became very distressing to David,+ because the people said to stone him;+ for the soul of all the people had become bitter,+ each one because of his sons and his daughters. So David took to strengthening himself by Jehovah his God.+
12 Further, when he offered the sacrifices, Abʹsa·lom sent for* A·hithʹo·phel+ the Giʹlon·ite,+ David’s counselor,+ from his city Giʹloh.+ And the conspiracy+ kept getting stronger, and the people were continually growing in number+ with Abʹsa·lom.
