28 Consequently the king took counsel+ and made two golden calves+ and said to the people:* “It is too much for YOU to go up to Jerusalem. Here is your God,*+ O Israel, that brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”+

8 “And now YOU men are thinking of holding YOUR own against the kingdom of Jehovah in the hand of the sons of David,+ when YOU are a large crowd+ and there are with YOU the golden calves that Jer·o·boʹam made for YOU as gods.*+
