16 “Sa·marʹi·a will be held guilty,+ for she is actually rebellious against her God.*+ By the sword they will fall.+ Their own children will be dashed to pieces,+ and their pregnant women themselves will be ripped up.”+
11 “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, ‘There is an adversary even round about the land,+ and he will certainly bring your* strength down from you, and your dwelling towers will actually be plundered.’+
6 And I shall certainly make Sa·marʹi·a a heap of ruins of the field,+ the planting places of a vineyard; and I will pour down into the valley her stones, and her foundations I shall lay bare.+
16 And the statutes of Omʹri+ and all the work of the house of Aʹhab are observed,+ and YOU people walk in their counsels;+ to the end that I may make you an object of astonishment and her inhabitants something to be whistled at;+ and the reproach of peoples*YOU men will bear.”+
