15 And by night he resorted to dividing his forces,+ he and his slaves, against them, and thus he defeated them and kept in pursuit of them up to Hoʹbah, which is north* of Damascus.

6 Further, David put garrisons+ in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians came to be David’s servants to carry tribute.+ And Jehovah continued to save David wherever he went.+

5 When Syria* of Damascus came to help Had·ad·eʹzer the king of Zoʹbah,+ David went striking down among the Syrians twenty-two thousand men.
