29 In the days of Peʹkah the king of Israel, Tigʹlath-pil·eʹser+ the king of As·syrʹi·a+ came in and proceeded to take Iʹjon+ and Aʹbel-beth-maʹa·cah+ and Ja·noʹah and Keʹdesh+ and Haʹzor+ and Gilʹe·ad+ and Galʹi·lee,*+ all the land of Naphʹta·li,+ and to carry them into exile in As·syrʹi·a.+

5 And the king of As·syrʹi·a proceeded to come up against all the land and to come up to Sa·marʹi·a and lay siege+ against it for three years.

11 Look! You yourself have heard what the kings of As·syrʹi·a did to all the lands by devoting them to destruction;+ and will you yourself be delivered?+

14 And just as if a nest, my hand+ will reach the resources+ of the peoples; and just as when one gathers eggs that have been left, I myself will gather up even all the earth, and there will certainly be no one fluttering [his] wings or opening [his] mouth or chirping.’”

12 Have the gods+ of the nations that my forefathers brought to ruin delivered them,+ even Goʹzan+ and Haʹran+ and Reʹzeph and the sons of Eʹden+ that were in Tel-asʹsar?
