19 There proved to be no city that made peace with the sons of Israel but the Hiʹvites+ inhabiting Gibʹe·on.+ All the others they took by war.+

2 So the king called the Gibʹe·on·ites+ and talked to them. (Incidentally, the Gibʹe·on·ites were not of the sons of Israel, but of the remainder of the Amʹor·ites;+ and the sons of Israel themselves had sworn to them,+ but Saul sought to strike+ them down in his feeling jealous+ for the sons of Israel and Judah.)

20 the sons of Gibʹbar,*+ ninety-five;

7 And at their side Mel·a·tiʹah the Gibʹe·on·ite+ and Jaʹdon the Me·ronʹo·thite,+ did repair work, men of Gibʹe·on+ and Mizʹpah,+ belonging to the throne of the governor+ beyond the River.+
