27 And it came about that, as soon as David came to Ma·ha·naʹim, Shoʹbi the son of Naʹhash from Rabʹbah+ of the sons of Amʹmon,+ and Maʹchir+ the son of Amʹmi·el+ from Lo-deʹbar, and Bar·zilʹlai+ the Gilʹe·ad·ite from Ro·geʹlim+

31 And Bar·zilʹlai+ the Gilʹe·ad·ite himself came down from Ro·geʹlim that he might pass on to the Jordan with the king so as to escort him to the Jordan.

39 All the people now began to cross the Jordan, and the king himself crossed; but the king kissed+ Bar·zilʹlai and blessed+ him, after which he returned to his place.

7 “And toward the sons of Bar·zilʹlai+ the Gilʹe·ad·ite you should exercise loving-kindness,* and they must prove to be among those eating at your table;+ for that was the way they drew near+ to me when I ran away from before Abʹsa·lom your brother.+
