3 He was despised and was avoided by men,*+ a man meant for pains and for having acquaintance with sickness.+ And there was as if the concealing of one’s face from us.*+ He was despised, and we held him as of no account.+

67 Then they spit into his face+ and hit+ him with their fists. Others slapped him in the face,+

29 and they braided a crown out of thorns and put it on his head and a reed in his right hand. And, kneeling before him, they made fun+ of him, saying: “Good day, you King of the Jews!”+
