18 And the sons of Israel did not strike them, because the chieftains of the assembly had sworn+ to them by Jehovah the God of Israel.+ And all the assembly began to murmur against the chieftains.+

35 And it came about that when he caught sight of her, he began to rip his garments+ and to say: “Alas, my daughter! You have indeed made me bend down, and you yourself have become the one I was ostracizing. And I—I have opened my mouth to Jehovah, and I am unable to turn back.”+

33 “Again YOU heard that it was said to those of ancient times, ‘You must not swear+ without performing, but you must pay your vows to Jehovah.’*+
