15 Then ten attendants carrying Joʹab’s weapons came around and struck Abʹsa·lom, that they might put him to death.+

22 At once the woman went in her wisdom+ to all the people, and they proceeded to cut off the head of Sheʹba the son of Bichʹri and pitch it to Joʹab. Upon that he blew the horn,+ and so they were scattered from the city, each one to his home;* and Joʹab himself returned to Jerusalem to the king.

24 And now, as Jehovah is living+ who has firmly established me+ and keeps me seated upon the throne of David my father+ and who made a house+ for me just as he has spoken,+ today Ad·o·niʹjah will be put to death.”+

9 Har·boʹna,+ one of the court officials+ before the king, now said: “Also, there is the stake+ that Haʹman made for Morʹde·cai, who had spoken good concerning the king,+ standing in Haʹman’s house—fifty cubits* high.” At that the king said: “YOU men, hang him on it.”+

41 They said to him: “Because they are evil, he will bring an evil destruction+ upon them and will let out the vineyard to other cultivators, who will render him the fruits when they become due.”+
