13 Even in laughter the heart may be in pain;+ and grief is what rejoicing ends up in.+

12 And there must prove to be harp and stringed instrument, tambourine and flute, and wine at their feasts;+ but the activity of Jehovah they do not look at, and the work of his hands they have not seen.+

4 “Happy are those who mourn, since they will be comforted.+

9 Give way to misery and mourn and weep.+ Let YOUR laughter be turned into mourning, and [YOUR] joy into dejection.+

3 For the time+ that has passed by is sufficient for YOU to have worked out the will of the nations+ when YOU proceeded in deeds of loose conduct,*+ lusts, excesses with wine,+ revelries, drinking matches, and illegal idolatries.+
