9 Woe to the one that has contended with his Former,+ as an earthenware fragment with the other earthenware fragments of the ground! Should the clay+ say to its former: “What do you make?” And your achievement [say]: “He has no hands”?

8 And now, O Jehovah, you are our Father.+ We are the clay,+ and you are our Potter;*+ and all of us are the work of your hand.+

21 What? Does not the potter+ have authority over the clay to make from the same lump one vessel for an honorable use, another for a dishonorable use?+
