16 But they were continually making jest+ at the messengers of the [true] God and despising his words+ and mocking+ at his prophets, until the rage+ of Jehovah came up against his people, until there was no healing.+

26 “However, they became disobedient+ and rebelled against you+ and kept casting your law behind their back,+ and your own prophets they killed,+ who bore witness against them to bring them back to you;+ and they went on committing acts of great disrespect.+

35 However, the cultivators took his slaves, and one they beat up, another they killed, another they stoned.+

34 For this reason, here I am sending+ forth to YOU prophets and wise men and public instructors.*+ Some of them YOU will kill+ and impale,* and some of them YOU will scourge+ in YOUR synagogues and persecute from city to city;

52 Which one of the prophets did YOUR forefathers not persecute?+ Yes, they killed+ those who made announcement in advance concerning the coming of the righteous One,+ whose betrayers and murderers YOU have now become,+

15 who killed even the Lord Jesus+ and the prophets+ and persecuted us.+ Furthermore, they are not pleasing God, but are against [the interests of] all men,
