21 Then E·liʹjah approached all the people and said: “How long will YOU be limping upon two different opinions?*+ If Jehovah is the [true] God,* go following him;+ but if Baʹal is, go following him.” And the people did not say a word in answer to him.

5 And he put out of business the foreign-god priests,* whom the kings of Judah had put in that they might make sacrificial smoke on the high places in the cities of Judah and the surroundings of Jerusalem, and also those making sacrificial smoke to Baʹal,+ to the sun and to the moon and to the constellations of the zodiac and to all the army of the heavens.+

13 For your gods have become as many as your cities, O Judah;+ and as many altars as the streets of Jerusalem YOU people have placed for the shameful thing,+ altars to make sacrificial smoke to Baʹal.’+
