18 And the valueless gods themselves will pass away completely.+

18 They are vanity,*+ a work of mockery.+ In the time of their being given attention they will perish.+

11 Jehovah will be fear-inspiring against them;*+ for he will certainly emaciate all the gods of the earth,*+ and people will bow down to him,+ each one from his place, all the islands* of the nations.+

2 “And it must occur in that day,” is the utterance of Jehovah of armies, “[that] I shall cut off the names of the idols out of the land,+ and they will no more be remembered;* and also the prophets+ and the spirit of uncleanness* I shall cause to pass out of the land.+
