30 “‘My sabbaths YOU should keep,+ and YOU should stand in awe of my sanctuary.+ I am Jehovah.

3 And as for me, I shall set my face against that man, and I will cut him off from among his people,+ because he has given some of his offspring to Moʹlech for the purpose of defiling my holy place+ and to profane my holy name.*+

7 Further, he put the carved image+ of the sacred pole that he had made in the house+ of which Jehovah had said to David and to Solʹo·mon his son: “In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I shall put my name to time indefinite.+

14 Even all the chiefs of the priests+ and the people themselves committed unfaithfulness on a large scale, according to all the detestable+ things of the nations, so that they defiled the house of Jehovah which he had sanctified in Jerusalem.+

34 And they went putting their disgusting things in the house upon which my own name has been called, in order to defile it.+
