31 For Jehovah your God is a merciful God.+ He will not desert you or bring you to ruin or forget the covenant+ of your forefathers that he swore to them.

20 Furthermore, he carried off those remaining from the sword captive to Babylon,+ and they came to be servants to him+ and his sons until the royalty of Persia+ began to reign;

13 And there will still be in it a tenth,+ and it must again become something for burning down, like a big tree and like a massive tree in which,* when there is a cutting down [of them],+ there is a stump;+ a holy seed* will be the stump of it.”*+

20 And it will certainly occur in that day that those remaining over of Israel+ and those who have escaped* of the house of Jacob will never again support themselves upon the one striking them,+ and they will certainly support themselves upon Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel,+ in trueness.*+

8 “‘“And when it occurs I will let YOU have as a remnant the ones escaping from the sword among the nations, when YOU get scattered among the lands.+

7 “And the remaining ones* of Jacob+ must become in the midst of many peoples like dew from Jehovah,+ like copious showers upon vegetation,+ that does not hope for man* or wait for the sons of earthling man.*+
