34 Furthermore, Pharʹaoh Neʹchoh made E·liʹa·kim+ the son of Jo·siʹah king in place of Jo·siʹah his father and changed his name to Je·hoiʹa·kim; and Je·hoʹa·haz he took and then brought to Egypt, where he eventually died.+
2 those who are setting out to go down to Egypt+ and who have not inquired of my own mouth,+ to take shelter in the stronghold of Pharʹaoh and to take refuge in the shadow of Egypt!+
36 Why do you treat as very insignificant the changing of your way?+ Of Egypt, too, you will become ashamed,+ just as you became ashamed of As·syrʹi·a.+
7 And I went on to say to them, ‘Throw away, each one of YOU, the disgusting things of his eyes,+ and with the dungy idols of Egypt do not defile yourselves.+ I am Jehovah YOUR God.’+
