22 As for the one sown among the thorns, this is the one hearing the word, but the anxiety of this system of things*+ and the deceptive power of riches* choke the word, and he* becomes unfruitful.+

7 And other [seed] fell among the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.+

18 There are still others who are sown among the thorns; these are the ones that have heard the word,+

19 but the anxieties+ of this system of things* and the deceptive power of riches+ and the desires+ for the rest of the things make inroads and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.+

7 Some other fell among the thorns, and the thorns that grew up with it choked it off.+

8 But if it produces thorns and thistles, it is rejected and is near to being cursed;+ and it ends up with being burned.+
