16 And those who are leading this people on prove to be the ones causing [them] to wander;+ and those of them who are being led on, the ones who are being confused.+

8 “But YOU men—YOU have turned aside from the way.+ YOU have caused many to stumble in the law.+ YOU have ruined the covenant of Leʹvi,”+ Jehovah of armies has said.

16 “Woe to YOU, blind guides,+ who say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple,* it is nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is under obligation.’+

39 Then he also spoke an illustration to them: “A blind man cannot guide a blind man, can he? Both will tumble into a pit, will they not?+

40 Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and they said to him: “We are not blind also,+ are we?”
