18 And the chief priests and the scribes heard it, and they began to seek how to destroy him;+ for they were in fear of him, for all the crowd was continually being astounded at his teaching.+

19 Moses gave YOU the Law,+ did he not? But not one of YOU obeys the Law. Why are YOU seeking to kill me?”+

20 Jesus answered him: “I have spoken to the world publicly. I always taught in a synagogue and in the temple,+ where all the Jews come together; and I spoke nothing in secret.
