52 Then Jesus said to him: “Return your sword to its place,+ for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword.+

12 The night is well along; the day+ has drawn near. Let us therefore put off the works belonging to darkness+ and let us put on the weapons+ of the light.

13 On this account take up the complete suit of armor* from God,+ that YOU may be able to resist in the wicked day and, after YOU have done all things thoroughly, to stand firm.+

8 But as for us who belong to the day, let us keep our senses and have on the breastplate+ of faith+ and love and as a helmet+ the hope of salvation;+

18 This mandate+ I commit to you, child, Timothy, in accord with the predictions+ that led directly on to you, that by these you may go on waging the fine warfare;+

24 But a slave of the Lord* does not need to fight,+ but needs to be gentle* toward all,+ qualified to teach,+ keeping himself restrained under evil,+
