15 An answer, when mild, turns away rage,+ but a word causing pain makes anger to come up.+

5 “Happy are the mild-tempered+ ones, since they will inherit the earth.+

12 Accordingly, as God’s chosen ones,+ holy and loved, clothe yourselves with the tender affections of compassion,+ kindness, lowliness of mind,*+ mildness,+ and long-suffering.+

15 But sanctify the Christ as Lord* in YOUR hearts,+ always ready to make a defense+ before everyone that demands of YOU a reason for the hope in YOU, but doing so together with a mild temper+ and deep respect.*
