7 I will cut Israel off from the surface of the land that I have given to them,+ and the house that I have sanctified for my name I will cast out of my sight,+ and Israel will become an object of scorn* and a cause for ridicule among all the peoples.+ 8 And this house will become heaps of ruins.+ Everyone passing by it will stare in amazement and will whistle and say, ‘Why did Jehovah do that to this land and this house?’+

12 “‘However, go now to my place in Shiʹloh,+ where I first caused my name to reside,+ and see what I did to it because of the badness of my people Israel.+

14 So I will do to the house that bears my name,+ in which you are trusting,+ and to this place that I gave to you and your forefathers, just as I did to Shiʹloh.+

44 They will dash you and your children within you to the ground,+ and they will not leave a stone upon a stone in you,+ because you did not discern the time of your being inspected.”
