19 This is the witness John gave when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him: “Who are you?”+ 20 And he admitted it and did not deny it, saying: “I am not the Christ.”+

25 But as John was finishing his course, he would say: ‘What do you suppose I am? I am not he.*+ But look! One is coming after me the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’+
