Theocratic News

◆ Good news from Turkey! The Turkish government, on May 21, 1975, approved the charter of a local religious corporation of Jehovah’s witnesses. Under the provision of the charter, Jehovah’s witnesses are now being allowed to hold public meetings. Also, on November 29, 1974, the 20th District Court of Istanbul ruled that Jehovah’s Christian witnesses are a religious body. According to that decision, each baptized Witness can now officially register his religion.

◆ Italy for the first time reports 50,506 publishers. Special pioneers now pass the 500 mark, and 97 percent of the country has been assigned to some congregation as territory to work regularly.

◆ A new land area has been opened for regular witnessing, since two special pioneers are now serving on St. Pierre and Miquelon, two small French islands about 10 miles south of Newfoundland.

◆ Australia reports they now have 6 Greek, 1 Yugoslav, 1 Arabic, 4 Italian and 2 Spanish congregations in the country. They have 27 more congregations than a year ago and also reached a new peak of 28,813 publishers.
