SHELOMOTH

(She·loʹmoth) [from a root that means “peace”].

1. Head of a paternal house among the descendants of Levi’s son Gershon.​—1Ch 23:6, 7, 9.

2. A Kohathite Levite of the family of Izhar; also known as Shelomith.​—1Ch 23:12, 18; 24:22.

3. A Levite descendant of Moses through his son Eliezer. David placed Shelomoth and his brothers in charge of the treasures of holy things, including sanctified war spoil taken by the Israelites. (1Ch 26:25-28) He was also called Shelomith.
