a Abel likely was conceived shortly after Adam and Eve were put out of Eden. (Gen. 4:1, 2) Genesis 4:25 says that God appointed Seth “in place of Abel.” Adam was 130 when he became father to Seth, after Abel’s violent death. (Gen. 5:3) So Abel may have been about 100 years old when Cain killed him.
