Footnote
a The Hebrew word so translated is the word zimmah. Strong defines it as meaning “a plan, espec. a bad one.” Keil-Delitzsch says: “lit. invention, design.” The Septuagint used the Greek asebyma for it and Liddell-Scott says this word means “impious or profane act, sacrilege.” In the New World Translation it is rendered “loose conduct.”
