Jesus had described the sweeping events that would lead up to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 C.E.: “Furthermore, when you see Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that the desolating of her has drawn near.”

In the year 66 C.E. the armies of Rome came just as Jesus had warned and surrounded the city.
