STUDY TIP
Visualize Bible Accounts
The Bible contains many historical narratives that teach important lessons. By creating mental images of these accounts, we can better understand what we read and benefit more from it. Consider some tips that can help you visualize Bible accounts.
Read aloud. Reading the Bible aloud can help you imagine the scenes more clearly. When reading the Bible as a family, you can make the account come alive by assigning each person a different character to read.
Picture the scenes. Try to capture the thoughts and the feelings of the characters involved. For instance, ask yourself: ‘Why did the person speak or act as he did? What would I have been thinking or feeling if I had been in that situation?’
Draw or sketch. Sketching Bible scenes can help you visualize and remember the narratives better, even if your finished product is not a work of art.
