EVEN if plenny peopo know who Abraham, mos of dem donno too much about him. But you know plenny about Abraham. You know dat da Bible tell Abraham “da faddah fo erybody dat trus God.” (Rome 4:11) Maybe you stay tinking, I can trus Jehovah plenny like Abraham? Of course can.

2. How come az importan fo study wat Abraham wen do? (From James 2:22, 23)

² One good way fo get da same kine trus like Abraham is by looking at wat he wen do. God wen tell Abraham fo move one far away place, live inside one tent fo long time, an ask him fo sacrifice his boy Isaac. Cuz Abraham had plenny faith he was ready fo do wat Jehovah wen tell um. Dass why Jehovah was happy wit him an wen come his fren. (Read um From James 2:22, 23.) Jehovah like dose same good tings fo all us, even you. Dass how come he wen make Paul an James write about wat Abraham wen do. We go look wat Fo Da Rome Peopo chapta 4 an From James chapta 2 tell about Abraham. An Da One In Charge, he tink, “Dis guy get um right wit me cuz he trus me.”” One person dat get um right is somebody who doing wat God like him do. Unreal fo tink dat God can look at one imperfeck person who sin az somebody dat no moa notting wrong wit um! Fo shua you like God look at you da same way ah, an He can! 5. How come Jehovah could tell dat Abraham wen get um right wit him? (Fo Da Rome Peopo 4:2, 4)

⁵ Jehovah wen tell dat Abraham wen get um right wit him wen he was living in Canaan. But Jehovah neva say was cuz Abraham wen follow da Rules from Moses. (Rome 4:13) Neva have da Rules until ova 400 years layta. So den, how come God wen say dat Abraham had get um right wit Him? ⁶ Paul wen tell, “gotta trus God . . . den God goin tell dat you stay right wit him.” (Rome 4:5) An on top of dat Paul wen tell, “Same ting fo David he wen talk about how peopo stay good inside wen God tell dat dey get um right wit him an dey neva work notting fo dat . . . Da peopo dat wen broke da rules from God, God let um go an hemo dea shame . . . Peopo can stay good inside wen Da One In Charge no make one lis of da bad kine stuff dey wen do.” (Rome 4:6-8; Songs 32:1, 2) God let go, o cova ova da sins of da guys who trus him. If we get faith we can be God’s fren too.

⁸ Fo hundreds of years, church leadas make argue about wat having faith an doing someting about um get to do wit each odda. Some of dem teach dat all you gotta do fo be saved is believe in Jesus. Maybe you wen hear dat. Some church guys even use wat Paul wen tell, “God tell dat dey get um right with him an dey neva work notting fo dat.” (Rome 4:6) Odda guys tell dat you can get saved if you go visit places da church tell is spesho o do tings da church tell is good. Maybe dey use wat tell in From James 2:24, “Not enuff fo ony trus God an no do notting. You gotta go do someting too.”

⁹ Cuz peopo tink diffren, some of da guys dat write religious kine stuff wen figga Paul an James no agree wen come to faith an da tings dat you do. Church leadas tell dat Paul tink one man can get um right wit God jus cuz he get faith an no do notting. But James tell dat you gotta do someting so dat you can get um right wit God. One professor of religion tell, “James neva undastan o agree wit wat Paul tell dat you ony need faith [fo get um right wit God].” But Jehovah da one who wen make Paul an James write wat dey did. (2 Tim 3:16) So mus get one easy way fo undastan wat dese guys was talking about. We gotta look at wat else dey was writing about in dea lettas.

Das how come Paul wen talk about Abraham fo prove dat you no need follow da Rules fo get um right wit God. Paul wen tell gotta have faith. Dass good fo know cuz dat help us fo see dat if we get faith in God an Christ, we can get um right wit God.

¹⁴ So Paul an James was writing about faith an doing someting about um in two diffren ways. Paul was telling da Jew Christians dat dey no could get um right with God jus by following da Rules. James was saying dat all Christians gotta show dey get faith by doing good tings to oddas.

NEED HOPE FO HAVE FAITH

¹⁶ Fo Da Rome Peopo chapta 4 teach us anodda importan lesson from Abraham, we gotta have hope. Jehovah wen promise dat cuz of Abraham, good tings was going happen to “plenny diffren kine peopos.” Try tink about how awesome da hope Abraham had! (Start 12:3; 15:5; 17:4; Rome 4:17) But, wen Abraham was 100 year old an Sarah was 90, dey still yet neva have one boy. From da way we look at um, no ways was going happen. Musta been real hard fo Abraham. “Abraham wen trus God an wen wait fo God do someting, even wen he neva see God do notting yet. Az how he come da faddah fo plenny diffren kine peopos.” (Rome 4:18, 19) Shua enuff, all dat wen happen. He wen come faddah to Isaac, da boy he was waiting fo.​—Rome 4:20-22.

17. How we know we can get um right wit God an be his frens?

¹⁷ We can get um right wit God an be his fren jalike Abraham. Dass wat Paul was talking about wen he had go write, “God no tell dat ony fo Abraham. He tell um fo us guys too. God figga us get um right wit him too, if we trus him . . . He da One make Jesus come back alive afta he mahke.” (Rome 4:23, 24) Jalike Abraham, we gotta have faith an do someting about um, an have hope.
