GUI 119 We Must Have Faith
Ɣaa-Ɓaa Yiɛ Ziɛ Ga Nii E Lai La
“Da ziɛzu ga de laa vele la, ɛ́ lɛ ga de wɛlɛ vele ba.”—2 KƆL. 5:7.
WHAT THE MAIN POINT?
We will learn how we can continue walking by faith when we get important decisions to make.
1. Zɛɓɛi e kɛɛ Pɔɔ wuuzu nɛɛ e ɣɛni?
Certain time in Paul life he knew they wor coming kill him. But when he think about the way he live his life, it made him happy. So he wor able to say: “I have run the race to the finish, I have observed the faith.” (2 Tim. 4:6-8) Paul made good decisions to use his life to serve Jehovah, and he wor sure that Jehovah wor happy with him. We ourself too want make good decisions that will make God happy with us. How we can do it?
2. De ziɛ ʋai ga nii de lai la zu-wulo-zu ɣa ga zɛɓɛ?
2 Paul say something about hisself and other faithful Christian dem. He say: “We are walking by faith, not by sight.” (2 Cor. 5:7) Wetin Paul mean? In the Bible, sometime the word “walking” can mean the way somebody decide to live their life. When somebody walk by sight, they can make decisions only on what they can see, hear, and feel. But when somebody walk by faith, he can make decisions that show that he trust Jehovah God. The thing dem he can do can show that he convince that God will bless him, and he will benefit by following Jehovah advice in the Bible.—Ps. 119:66; Heb. 11:6.
3. Kulo su-nu-ma zɛɓɛi ya sɔlɔwo ani ya ziɛna ga nii e lai la? (2 Kɔlĩitiɛ 4:18)
3 Sometime, all of us can make decisions base on what we see, hear or feel. But we will face problems sometime if we make important decisions base only on what we can see, hear or feel. Why we say so? Because what we can see and hear can’t always be correct. So if we make decisions base only on what we can see or feel, maybe we will end up doing some thing dem that will not make Jehovah happy. (Eccl. 11:9; Matt. 24:37-39) But when we walk by faith, we will be able to make decisions that “acceptable to the Lord.” (Eph. 5:10) When we follow God advice it will give us peace and it will make us to really be happy. (Ps. 16:8, 9; Isa. 48:17, 18) And if we continue walking by faith, we will get everlasting life in the future.—Read 2 Corinthians 4:18.
4. Nu ɣa leve ɣɛ le e kwɛ̃ɛ ani tɔ ziɛzu ga nii e lai la ɔɔ nii e pɛtɛsu?
4 How we can know whether we walking by faith or by sight? Yeh some question dem that can help us to know: Wetin we can depend on when we making decisions? We can depend only on the thing dem we can see? Or we can depend on our trust in Jehovah and his advice? Let see how we can continue walking by faith in this three important situation dem: (1) when we looking for work, (2) when we looking for somebody to marry, and (3) when the organization give us direction. In each of this situation, we will see what we need to think about so we can be able to make good decisions.
ANI DA ƔƐNA TII ƔAA-ZIƐZU GA DE KƐ
5. Zɛɓɛi maa nɛɛ de pɛɛ ɣibɛ e vile tii va de wõini de kɛ?
5 All of us want be able to provide for we and our family. (Eccl. 7:12; 1 Tim. 5:8) Some work dem can really pay. It can make the person who working to be able to get enough money to take care of their family and even safe some money for the future. But some other work dem can’t really pay, it can only allow the person to provide what the family need. So when we deciding what work to do, it not wrong to think about the amount of money we will get. But if we only thinking about the amount of money we will get, than it mean we walking by sight.
6. Da ziɛ ɣɛ le ga nii de lai la ani da ɣɛna tii ɣaa-ziɛzu ga de kɛ? (Hiiɓuluitiɛ 13:5)
6 When we walking by faith, we will also think about how the work will affect our friendship with Jehovah. So maybe we can ask ourself: ‘This work will make me to do thing dem that Jehovah hate?’ (Prov. 6:16-19) ‘It will make me to miss meetings, field service and stop studying the Bible? It will make me to not be with my family for long time?’ (Phil. 1:10) If your answer to this question dem that yes, then it will be good to not take the work, even if it hard to find work. Because we walking by faith, we will make decisions that show that we trust that Jehovah will take care of us and give us what we need.—Matt. 6:33; read Hebrews 13:5.
7-8. De ɣaa yɔwɔ̃i nii ziɛni ɣɛ le ga nii e lai la? (Wɛlɛ ɓaala footei va.)
7 Let see how one brother name Javier,a from South America, show that it important to walk by faith. He say: “I apply for one job that I wor really coming enjoy and it wor coming give me plenty money.” But Javier really wanted to pioneer. He also say: “They call me for interview. Before I go for the interview, I pray to Jehovah for help, because I wor convince that he know what good for me. Even though I wanted to enjoy my work and get good pay, but I tell myself say, I will not take this work if it will not allow me to do more for Jehovah.”
8 Javier say: “During the interview, the manager tell me that I will always be working overtime. I take my time and explain to him that I will not be able to do it because I want get time to worship Jehovah.” So, Javier decide not to take the work. After two weeks, he started pioneering. Later on that same year, he find part-time work. He say: “Jehovah hear my prayers and help me to find work that allow me to pioneer. I really happy to find work that can give me more time to work for Jehovah and my brother and sister dem.”
If they give you promotion to your working place, the decision you will make will show whether you convince that Jehovah know what good for you. (See paragraphs 7-8)
9. Zɛɓɛi de maa wolia Trésor na po-kɔ̃ɔ-mai zu?
9 Suppose you notice that the work you doing now-now not giving you time to be close to Jehovah? Then see what you can learn from one brother name Trésor, who living in Congo. He say: “The new work I wor doing that the kindna work I really wanted to do. I wor making more money than what I use to make before and people use to respect me.” But Trésor always use to miss meetings because he use to work overtime. And sometime his workmate dem use to pressure him to lie for them when they cheat other people. Trésor wanted to leave the work, but he wor worrying that it will be hard for him to find work. Wetin help him? He say: “Habakkuk 3:17-19 help me to understand that even if I lost my job, Jehovah will still take care of me. So I leave the work.” He also say: “Plenty boss men dem can think that people can do anything to keep their good work even if it cause them to forget about their family and their worship to God. I happy that I protect my friendship with Jehovah. After one year, Jehovah help me to find good work that allow me to take care of myself and do more for him. When we put Jehovah first in our life, maybe things will be hard on us for some time, but Jehovah will take care of us.” Yes, if we trust in Jehovah advice and the thing dem he promise, we will continue walking by faith and he will bless us.
ANI DA ƔƐNA NU ƔAA-ZIƐZU GA DE ƲULU ƲAA ƔƐ
10. Zɛɓɛi ya kɛ tanisu de ziɛ ga nii de pɛtɛsu ani da wõini ga de ʋulu ʋaa ɣɛ?
10 Marriage that gift from Jehovah, and it normal to want get marry. Let say one sister see one brother she want marry. Then she start thinking about the way he looking, his behavior, wetin people can say about him, whether he get money, how he can take care of his family people, and how he can make her happy.b All this thing dem important. But if that the only thing dem she focusing on, then it possible that she walking by sight.
11. Da leve ɣɛ le de ziɛ ga nii de lai la ani da ɣɛna ʋulu ʋaa ɣɛɛzu? (1 Kɔlĩitiɛ 7:39)
11 Jehovah can really be happy when he see our brother and sister dem following his advice when they looking for somebody to marry! For example, they can follow the advice to wait until they pass “the bloom of youth” before thinking about dating. (1 Cor. 7:36) They can make sure that the person they want marry, must get the quality dem that Jehovah say good husband or good wife must get. (Prov. 31:10-13, 26-28; Eph. 5:33; 1 Tim. 5:8) If somebody who not Jehovah Witness show interest in them, they can obey the advice to marry “only in the Lord,” according to 1 Corinthians 7:39. (Read.) They can follow this advice because they know that Jehovah will always be there to help them.—Ps. 55:22.
12. Zɛɓɛi da maa woli Rosa na po-kɔ̃ɔ-mai zu?
12 Let talk about the experience of one pioneer sister in Colombia name Rosa. The work she wor doing make her to always be in contact with one man who wor not Jehovah Witness, and he started showing interest in her. Rosa use to like the man too. She say: “He wor looking like good man. He use to help people in his community, and he not use to smoke, take drugs or drink too much. I like the way he use to treat me. He wor having all the quality dem I wor looking for in the man I want marry, but he wor not Jehovah Witness.” She also say: “It wor hard for me to say no to him because that what I really wanted. During that time, I use to be feeling lonely and I really wanted to get marry, but I wor not able to find anybody in the truth.” But Rosa not focus only on the thing dem she wor seeing. She think about how her decision will affect her friendship with Jehovah. So she stop talking with him and she continue to be busy in Jehovah service. It not stay long they invite her to attend the School for Kingdom Evangelizers, and now-now she special pioneer. She say: “Jehovah na bless me and it really making me happy.” It can’t be easy to walk by faith especially when we get strong feeling about something. But if we do what Jehovah say, it will benefit us.
ANI DA KI-DAA-WODO MAA ZƆLƆ WONA
13. Zɛɓɛi ya kɛ tanisu de ziɛ ga nii de pɛtɛsu ani ta ki-daa-wodo ʋeena de ya?
13 Most of the time, we can get direction from Jehovah organization that can help us to serve Jehovah. Sometime we can get it from our elder dem, the circuit overseer, the branch office, or the Governing Body. But suppose we not understand the reason why the brother dem give us certain direction? Maybe we will only see how the direction will make things hard for us, or maybe we will start focusing on the mistake of the brother dem who give the direction.
14. Zɛɓɛi ya ɓɔ de va de ziɛ ga nii de lai la ani da ki-daa-wodo maa zɔlɔ wona? (Hiiɓuluitiɛ 13:17)
14 When we walking by faith, we will trust that Jehovah guiding his organization and he know what good for us. Because of that, we will be quick to obey, and we will not complain. (Read Hebrews 13:17.) We know that when we obey, it can help the congregation to be united. (Eph. 4:2, 3) We also know that the brother dem who taking the lead not perfect. But when we obey, Jehovah will bless us. (1 Sam. 15:22) We also get faith that when the direction need to be change, Jehovah will change it the right time.—Mic. 7:7
15-16. Zɛɓɛi e ɓɔni de ɣaa ɣɔwɔ̃i nii va ga e ziɛ ga nii e lai la velei ɓalaa e ɣɛni ɣi-gaa-ziɛzu ga ta ɓalaa e vile ki-daa-wodoi va te feeni? (Wɛlɛ ɓaala footei va.)
15 Let talk about one experience that can help us to see the benefit that can come when we walk by faith. In Peru, that Spanish the people can speak. But they get some other language dem there that plenty people can speak. One of them that Quechua. For plenty years, the brother and sister dem who can speak Quechua wor looking for people who can speak Quechua in the territory. But to do what the government say, the brother dem change the way they will look for people in the territory. (Rom. 13:1) Because of that, some publisher dem wor thinking that it will slow the work down. But because the brother dem obey the direction, Jehovah bless them and they wor able to find plenty people who can speak Quechua.
16 One elder from the Quechua-speaking congregation name Kevin, wor among the people who wor thinking that the direction will not work. He say: “I wor thinking, ‘How we will be able to find people who can speak Quechua?’” But wetin Kevin do? He say: “I remember Proverbs 3:5. And I also think about Moses. Jehovah gave Moses direction that wor looking like it not make sense. He tell Moses to take the Israelite dem from Egypt and carry them to the Red Sea where it wor coming make it easy for the Egyptians to catch up with them. Still, he obey and Jehovah perform miracle to save them.” (Ex. 14:1, 2, 9-11, 21, 22) Kevin wor willing to change the way he use to preach. What wor the result? He say: “I wor too surprise to see the way Jehovah bless us. First, we use to walk plenty in the field service and sometime we can only find one or two person who can speak Quechua. But now we can only go to the territories where we can find plenty people who can speak Quechua. Because of that, we can talk with plenty people, check back on them, and study the Bible with them. And plenty people can attend our meeting now.” Yes, when we walk by faith, Jehovah will always bless us.
People who the brother dem meet wor able to show them areas in the community where they can find plenty people who can speak Quechua (See paragraphs 15-16)
17. Zɛɓɛi de maa wolia kɔlɔ zɛvɛi nii zu?
17 We na learn how to continue walking by faith in three different situations. But we must continue walking by faith in everything we do in our life. For example, the kindna entertainment we will choose, the amount of book we want learn, and how to bring our children up. No matter what decisions we get to make, we must not only think about what we see. But we must think about our friendship with Jehovah, his advice, and the promise he made to take care of us. If we do it, we will be able to “walk in the name of Jehovah our God forever and ever.”—Mic. 4:5.
