Yee Zei Jehova Na Su-Ʋaa-Yɛgi Wu

“E na faa yowũitiɛ zu-ʋaa-yɛni.”—PS. 32:5.

WHAT THE MAIN POINT?

We will learn why we must be convince that Jehovah na forgive us and how the Bible show that he can forgive people who repent.

1-2. Taitiɛ ta wulu ɣaaʋe ta ʋaa yɔwɔ̃itiɛ va, kulo su-nu-ma zɛɓɛi ta sɔlɔwo? (Wɛlɛ ɓalaa footei va.)

KING David know how it can be when somebody feeling guilty because of the mistake they make before. (Ps. 40:12; 51:3; the small writing over Psalm 40) Why? Because he hisself make some serious mistake dem in his life. But, he show that he really repent from his heart, and Jehovah forgive him. (2 Sam. 12:13) Because of that, David wor happy when he know that Jehovah na forgive him.—Ps. 32:1.

2 Like David, we ourself too can be happy when we know that Jehovah na feel sorry for us and forgive us. When we repent from our heart, confess our sin and try to not make the same mistake again, Jehovah can forgive us even if that serious sin we commit! (Prov. 28:13; Acts 26:20; 1 John 1:9) Just knowing this one here can make our heart to lay down. And we can be so happy to know that when Jehovah forgive us, it can be just like we not commit any sin.—Ezek. 33:16.

King David write plenty thing dem in the Book of Psalms that describe the way Jehovah can forgive. (See paragraphs 1-2)

3-4. De ɣaa yɔwɔ̃i Jennifer ɣi-gaa-ziɛni ɣɛ le siɛgi ma e bataizei maa zɔlɔ woni, na ɣa ɣɛɛna zɛɓɛi de vaazu yɛpɛzu e vile ba kɔlɔ zɛvɛi nii zu?

3 Sometime, it can be hard for some people to be convince that Jehovah na forgive them. That what happen to one woman name Jennifer, who grow up in the truth. When she wor young, she put her hand in plenty bad-bad thing dem and she wor living all kindna life. After some time she come back to Jehovah and get baptize. She say: “In the past I use to get vex bad way, drink plenty liquor, and put my hand in boyfriend business. Beside that one, I also use to like material thing business. After I repent and beg Jehovah to forgive me, I knew that he forgive me because of Jesus ramson sacrifice. But I wor not really convince from my heart that He na forgive me.”

4 Sometime it can be hard for you to really be convince that Jehovah na forgive you for the mistake dem you make before? David wor convince that Jehovah forgive him. That the same way Jehovah want you to be convince that he na forgive you. In this article, we will learn why we must be convince that Jehovah na forgive us and wetin can help us to do it.

ZƐƁƐI E KƐƐ MAA NƐƐ DE YEE ZEI JEHOVA NA SU-ƲAA-YƐGI WU?

5. Zɛɓɛi Seeta wõini de ɣi-gaa-ziɛ ma? Po-kɔ̃ɔ-ma ʋe.

5 When we convince that Jehovah na forgive us, we will not fall down in one of Satan trap. Remember that Satan will do anything he able to do just to stop us from serving Jehovah. He want make us believe that Jehovah can’t forgive our sin. Let talk about one brother in Corinth. The elder dem move him from the congregation because he wor loving to his step ma. (1 Cor. 5:1, 5, 13) Later on when he repent, Satan wanted the brother and sister dem to refuse to forgive the man and to not welcome him back in the congregation. Beside that one, Satan wanted the man who repent to feel that nobody want forgive him and to be “overwhelmed by excessive sadness” until he stop serving Jehovah. Satan not change his tactic dem yet. But “we are not ignorant of his designs.”—2 Cor. 2:5-11.

6. Da ki-gaa-ziɛ vagɔ maa zɔlɔwo ɣɛ le e vile da ʋaa yowũitiɛ va?

6 When we really convince that Jehovah na forgive us, we will stop feeling guilty. It normal to feel guilty when we sin. (Ps. 51:17) It can make us to change our ways and do the right thing. (2 Cor. 7:10, 11) So it not bad to feel guilty. But if we continue to feel guilty even after we repent from our sin, maybe it will make us to stop serving Jehovah. So, convince yourself that Jehovah na forgive you and he will help you to stop feeling guilty. Then you can be happy and serve Jehovah with clean conscience because that how he want it to be. (Col. 1:10, 11; 2 Tim. 1:3) But how we can convince ourself that Jehovah na forgive us?

ZƐƁƐI YA ƁƆ DE VA GA DE YEE ZEI JEHOVA NA SU-ƲAA-YƐGI WU?

7-8. Jehova yɛpɛni ɣɛ le Mooze wɔ e vile ɓɔɔ va, na ɣa ɣɛɛna zɛɓɛi maa nɛɛ de pɛɛ ɣibɛ? (Exodus 34:6, 7)

7 Think about the way Jehovah describe hisself. For example, see what he tell Moses on Mount Sinai.a (Read Exodus 34:6, 7.) Even though Jehovah get plenty good-good ways, he decide to tell Moses that He God who can feel sorry for people and show mercy. You think this kindna God will not want forgive his servant who really repent? Yes, he will want forgive dem! If Jehovah not do it, it will mean that he get strong heart and he can’t feel sorry for people. And we know our God Jehovah can’t act like that.

8 We sure that Jehovah can always say the truth, and he can’t lie on hisself. (Ps. 31:5) So we can trust him. But If you still feeling guilty because of the mistake dem you make before, ask yourself this question: ‘I believe that Jehovah can really feel sorry for people and he can forgive anybody who repent? If you believe this one, then you can be sure that Jehovah na forgive you.’

9. Da ʋaa yowũitiɛ zu-ʋaa-yɛgai zu-wulo-zu ɣa ga zɛɓɛ? (Psalm 32:5)

9 Think on what Jehovah tell the Bible writer dem to say about the way he can forgive. For example, let see how David describe the way Jehovah can forgive. (Read Psalm 32:5.) He say, “You pardoned the error of my sins.” The Hebrew word they use for “pardon” can mean “lift up,” “take away,” or “carry.” It wor just like Jehovah lift up heavy load from on David head and carry far off. (Ps. 32:2-4) David wor happy and he wor not feeling guilty again. We can be happy the same way too. When we repent from our heart, we must not continue to feel guilty for the sins that Jehovah na already forgive.

10-11. Woi nii ga “e ɣavele ɓɛtɛvɛ ga e su-ʋaa-yɛ bo” zɛɓɛi e dɛɛzu ga diɛ e vile Jehova va? (Psalm 86:5)

10 Read Psalm 86:5. In this Bible verse, David say Jehovah always “ready to forgive.” To explain what this one mean, one book describe Jehovah like this. It say: “It just part of Jehovah to always forgive.” Why it part of Jehovah to always forgive? The next part of the verse say: “You abound in loyal love for all those who call on you.” From what we learn in the article before this one, loyal love can make Jehovah to stick to his faithful servant dem. That this kindna love can make him to “freely forgive” anybody who repent from their heart. (Isa. 55:7, ftn.) If it hard for you to be convince that Jehovah na forgive you, you can ask yourself this question: ‘I really believe that Jehovah ready to forgive everybody who repent from their heart? If yes, then it will good for me to be convince that he na feel sorry for me and forgive me.’

11 It can comfort us to know that Jehovah really understand that we can make mistake. (Ps. 139:1, 2) So let see another psalm that David write that can also convince us that Jehovah really want forgive us.

MƐLƐ YEE MA NIITIƐ MA JEHOVA ƔA ƔI-ZƐ-SU

12-13. E ɣɛ velei Psalm 103:14 boga la, zɛɓɛi Jehova koni e vile de va, na ɣa ɣɛɛna zɛɓɛi ya wõi ga e kɛ?

12 Read Psalm 103:14. David give one reason why Jehovah can always be ready to forgive people who repent. He say that Jehovah remember that we dust. This one mean that Jehovah always know that we can make mistake. To understand this one good-good, let talk more about what David say.

13 David say that Jehovah “well knows how we are formed.” Jehovah make Adam “out of dust from the ground,” so he know how human being wor made and what they need. For example, they need to eat, sleep, and breathe. Even perfect human being need this thing them. (Gen. 2:7) But when Adam and Eve sin, the word dust get another meaning. It can also mean, the sin we born with that can make us to do wrong things because we Adam and Eve children. Jehovah know this one here good-good. So when David say that Jehovah remember that we dust, he also mean that Jehovah know that we can make mistake sometime. But when he see that we repent from our heart, he will feel sorry for us and forgive us.—Ps. 78:38, 39.

14. (a) Deeve Jehova na su-ʋaa-yɛgi su wuloni ɣɛ le? (Psalm 103:12) (b) Zɛɓɛi Deeve na po-kɔ̃ɔ-mai dɛɛzu ga diɛ e vile Jehova na su-ʋaa-yɛgi va? (Wɛlɛ kologi va “How Jehovah Can Forgive and Forget?”)

14 How far Jehovah can forgive our sin? (Read Psalm 103:12.) David say when Jehovah forgive our sin, He can put it “as far off as the sunrise is from the sunset.” The place the sun can come from and the place it can go, far from each other and they will never meet. Wetin this one tell us about the sin dem Jehovah na forgive? One book that talk about this verse say: “When Jehovah forgive our sin, it just like something stop smelling.” Sometime when we smell certain scent, it can remind us about something that happen before. But when Jehovah forgive our sin, nothing can make him to think about it again or punish us for it.—Ezek. 18:21, 22; Acts 3:19.

Collage: 1. King David standing upstairs on the porch looking at Bath-sheba taking bath. 2. He praying with his whole heart. 3. He thinking and writing.

How Jehovah Can Forgive and Forget?

When Jehovah forgive our sin, he can forget about it. That mean he can’t punish us for it in the future. (Isa. 43:25) Think about King David. His example show that we can get good friendship with Jehovah again even if we na make serious mistake.

David commit serious sin, like adultery and killing. But because he repent with his whole heart, Jehovah forgive him. David accept the correction, change his ways and continue serving Jehovah the right way.—2 Sam. 11:1-27; 12:13.

Later on, Jehovah tell Solomon say: “Walk before me as your father David walked, with integrity of heart and with uprightness.” (1 Ki. 9:4, 5) Jehovah not even talk about the sin dem David commit. But he say that David wor faithful and always use to do the right thing. And because he wor faithful, Jehovah bless him.—Ps. 13:6.

What the lesson for us? When Jehovah forgive us, he can’t continue thinking on our mistake. He can only focus on the good-good thing dem we can do and bless us for it. (Heb. 11:6) So we must not continue feeling guilty about the mistake dem we make before that Jehovah already na decide to forget about.

15. Zɛɓɛi da kɛ ani da ɣɛna ɣi-gaa-ziɛ zu faa yowũitiɛ ma de kɛɛni wɔlɔ?

15 How the thing David say in Psalm 103 can help us to be convince that Jehovah na forgive us? If we continue to feel bad about the sins that we commit before, we must think on this one here: ‘Jehovah know that we not perfect. He can forgive anybody who repent from their sin, and that what you na do. Also remember that Jehovah na decide to not think about your sin or remind you about it again because he already na forgive you.’ So, he will never punish you for it. Jehovah can’t be thinking about the sin dem we commit before. So we ourself must not be thinking about it. (Ps. 130:3) When we convince that Jehovah na forgive us, we will stop feeling guilty and continue to be happy serving Jehovah.

16. Yɛpɛ e vile po-kɔ̃ɔ-mai ta va e dɛɛzu ga ɛ lɛ vani ga dɔ ɣaazu ɓado da ʋaa yowũitiɛ va de kɛɛni wɔlɔ. (Wɛlɛ ɓalaa footei va.)

16 Think about this example. When we continue to feel guilty about the mistake dem we make before, it will be just like somebody driving car and they continue looking in the mirror that can help them to see behind. It not bad to be looking in the mirror one-one time to see whether something bad behind you. But for you to be safe while you driving, you must focus on the road that in front of you. That the same way it not bad to think one-one time about the mistake dem we make before. Why? Because we can learn from them and it can help us to not do the same thing again. But if we continue thinking about the sin that Jehovah na already forgive, we will not be happy and we will not be able to serve Jehovah the way we suppose to do it. So let continue to focus on serving Jehovah and thinking on the future that he na promise where all the mistake dem we make before “will not be called to mind.”—Isa. 65:17; Prov. 4:25.

The man driving on the road that get plenty curve and he just looking in the mirror that can help people to see behind.

The driver suppose to focus more on the road that in front of him, instead of the mirror that can make him to see behind. That the same way we must focus more on the blessing dem that we will get in the future instead of the mistake dem we make before (See paragraph 16)

ƔAA ƁAA GA E YA LAALAI ZUƁAA

17. Zɛɓɛi e kɛɛ maa nɛɛ de da laalai zuɓaa e vile Jehova na wõilai ɓɔga na su-ʋaa-yɛgi va?

17 We must continue convincing ourself that Jehovah love us and he na forgive us. (1 John 3:19, ftn.) Why? Because Satan will continue to make us feel that Jehovah not love us and He will never forgive us. Anything Satan do, we know his goal that to stop us from serving Jehovah. We must know that Satan will continue putting more effort because he know that his time short. (Rev. 12:12) So we must not let him win!

18. Zɛɓɛi ya ɓɔ de va ga de da laalai zuɓaa e vile Jehova na wõilai ɓɔga na su-ʋaa-yɛgi va?

18 For you to be more convince that Jehovah love you, do the thing dem that we talk about in the article before this one. To convince yourself that Jehovah na forgive you, think on how Jehovah describe hisself. Think good-good on what the Bible writer dem say about the way Jehovah can forgive. Remember, Jehovah know that you not perfect, and he will feel sorry for you and forgive you. Also remember that when he forgive, he can forgive altogether. Then you will be happy that Jehovah na show you mercy. And like David you will be able to say, “Thank you, Jehovah, for pardoning ‘the error of my sins’!”—Ps. 32:5.
